Longhouse Council Camporee

The Longhouse Council Camporee will be held May 17-18^th at the Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek. This event is open to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Ventures and adult leaders. The full registration packet can be downloaded of the Council web page. Registration needs to be in by May 15th.
Units not registered by the deadline may not be able to compete in the Olympic events.

The camporee will have an Olympic theme. Boy Scout will be competing in 3 different events, have the opportunity to try out the climbing wall, participate in archery, and run in a 5K, while the Cub Scouts will have a belt loop midway as well many exciting events, which will include bottle rockets, pinewood derby, demonstrations by the military and fire departments and much much more.

On Saturday we will hold a Dutch oven cook off. All Patrols are encouraged to participate. Winners will be announced at the nightly fire. Leadership & patrols are encouraged to make a main dish or a dessert of their choice. The Camporee will be capped off with a fireworks display on Saturday night. This event only happens once every three years, so you want to make sure your Unit is there.

Plan to join us for an evening of recognition and fellowship.

Council Annual Reports will be given as well as the election of Council Officers and Members at Large. The Silver Beaver Class of 2013 from throughout the Council will be honored.

This is a fun evening of celebration and a wonderful meal will be provided. Pre registration and payment MUST BE received by May 31, 2013. No walk ins allowed, food is preordered.

Camp Card Fundraising Program

Camp Cards are discount cards that provides the purchasers numerous discounts to restaurants and retailers all throughout Central and Northern New York. Each card is sold for $5.00. The deals on the card far exceed the amount. Scouts are encouraged to sell as many as they can. Your unit will earn 50% ($2.50 per card) of all sales!

There is no risk to your unit! All your unit needs to do is agree to participate in the 2013 Camp Card Program and request the number of cards your unit intends on selling. Once your unit has the 2013 Camp Cards you will issue them to your Scouts one bundle at a time which is 10 Cards or $50.00 worth of cards. At the end of the sale your unit will return all unsold cards and 50% of the sales to the Council Office. Your unit retains 50% of your total sales.

The 2013 Camp Card Sale will run from March 15, 2013 – May 31, 2013. To sign up your unit, just complete the commitment form below and submit it to the Longhouse Service Center by March 15th.

An expedition is being put together for Philmont in 2014. Estimated cost is $2,200.
