2015 Longhouse Council Philmont Trek

Reservations for the 2015 Longhouse Council Philmont Trek will open Jan. 15.

Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, N.M. is comprised of 137,000 acres in and around the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northeastern New Mexico. It is a highlight of any youth or adult Scouting experience. It takes strength and determination to complete the arduous trek, which is typically more than 50 miles long and completed over 12 days.

All crews will be filled to a maximum number of 12 participants per crew, and no more than four adults will be allowed per crew.

All participants must be 14 years old, or completed the eighth grade and be at least 13 by the day the trek begins, as well as pass Philmont weight and health guidelines.

Reservations will be accepted beginning Jan. 15, 2014.

COST: Tentatively $2,500 per person. This includes transportation, council contingent items, and all activities prior to arrival at Philmont.

DATES: Tentatively July 19 – Aug. 1, 2015.

RESERVATIONS: $150 deposit per person will be accepted beginning Jan. 15, 2014. You must submit the deposit with the registration form to reserve your spaces, including waiting-list spaces. Participants are required to make scheduled minimum payments of $125 per month beginning 30 days after initial deposit with all final unpaid balances paid in full May 31, 2015. An Agreement To Participate Letter will be presented for review and signed be each participant prior to acceptance of reservation.

Longhouse Council Philmont Ambassador Karen Heiss will begin initial interest information sessions at your District Roundtables beginning January 2014.
